KUWAIT: The Ministry of Interior announced that an intensive security campaign in Khaitan, Farwaniya, Jleeb Al-Shyoukh, Al-Mutlaa, and Mahboula areas resulted in the arrest of many violators, with 1,822 violations issued. The campaign was carried out by the General Directorate of Traffic, the General Directorate of Rescue Police, the Public Security Sector, the General Directorate of Special Security Forces and the Women’s Police. The campaign resulted in the arrest of 146 people, including three suspects wanted for drug-related cases. 17 vehicles and bicycles were also seized. The Ministry said that these campaigns are aimed at arresting outlaws and violators of the residence law so as to maintain security and order, address and prevent crime, as well as combat negative phenomena.—KUNA
