KUWAIT: Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities at the Ministry of Education Mariam Al-Enezi said that the achievement of the students in the Gulf Science Olympiad competitions for physics, chemistry and mathematics, which were recently held in Saudi Arabia, reflects their scientific excellence and the Ministry’s efforts in preparing them for regional and international competitions.

Al-Enezi received the winning students at the VIP lounge at Kuwait International Airport, where they received 8 medals in various scientific disciplines. Al-Enezi thanked the students for their efforts and for raising the name of Kuwait in international forums. One of the students, Ali Behbehani (who won the silver medal in chemistry), said that this competition was one of the most prominent experiences he had undergone in the field of chemistry, stressing that it enhanced his skills. Behbehani dedicated this achievement to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and to Kuwait, and to the General Technical Guidance for Science, its trainers and teachers.

Another student, Sarah Al-Humaidi, who won the bronze medal in mathematics, expressed her happiness to participate in the competition, which she described as full of challenges and enthusiasm among students from the GCC countries, noting that she looks forward to achieving greater achievements in the future. Najat Al-Rifai, who won the bronze medal in physics, expressed her thanks to the Ministry of Education for providing the opportunity to participate in such international competitions, praising the efforts of the mentors and trainers who helped achieve this success.

Also, Jana Al-Jadi (student) talked about her experience in the competition and how it strengthened the bond and brotherhood among students from the GCC countries, expressing her aspiration to participate in future competitions and achieve advanced positions. Dana Al-Ayoubi (who participated in the chemistry team) praised the competition and said it was a motivation for the students, as she hoped to obtain more medals in future participations. — KUNA
