KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Finance Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Dr Noura Al-Fassam held talks on Thursday with her Turkish counterpart Mehmet Simsek, to discuss enhancing and solidifying economic and investment relations between Kuwait and Turkey during his official visit to the country.

The meeting emphasized the historical relations between the two friendly countries in various fields, citing a raft of economic and investment deals signed by Kuwait and Ankara which aim to propel ties to greater levels. The two sides also reviewed proposed areas of cooperation in the industry, energy, technology, and petrochemical sectors. It also touched upon the 15th Turkish-Arab Economic Forum, which will be held in Istanbul this week. Present at the meeting were the Turkish Ambassador to Kuwait Tuba Sonmez, the Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Managing Director of the Public Investment Authority Ghanem Al-Ghenaiman and Assistant Undersecretary for the General Budget Affairs Sector in the Ministry of Finance Saad Al-Alaty. — KUNA
