KUWAIT: The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a grant agreement with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) worth $2.5 million to support humanitarian missions for the period between 2024 and 2025. KFAED said in a press statement on Tuesday that the agreement aims to meet the urgent appeal of the United Nations to support several sectors in the Gaza Strip with fuel supplies so as to maintain the operation of basic services, indicating that this contribution is the third of its kind between the two sides in this field.

The agreement was signed by Acting Director General of the Fund Walid Al-Bahar and Director of the Financing and Partnerships Division at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Lisa Dutton. The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development is considered a development tool that relies entirely on its own resources in providing loans and development aid. — KUNA
