KUWAIT: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Oil said Monday that its “Oil Innovates” award, which will be launched in mid-October, aims to enhance innovation, improve the work environment, and develop innovative solutions that contribute to raising performance efficiency and increasing sustainability. The Ministry of Oil added in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the award reflects the Ministry’s commitment to advancing development, improving performance, and achieving excellence.

This is with a strategic partnership with the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity—one of the centers of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences—and is within the framework of joint efforts to discover and develop national talents. The partnership translates the Ministry’s vision in encouraging innovation in its various departments, with a focus on enhancing the skills of employees and motivating them to present ideas and projects that would advance their operations.

The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity will provide its extensive experience in sponsoring innovation and supporting talented people, which will contribute to directing creative ideas towards achieving tangible successes in the oil sector and enhancing digital transformation processes. The award seeks to encourage creativity by motivating employees to present innovative ideas and projects, enhance their skills, and improve their capabilities.

The Ministry of Oil pointed out that the introductory meetings will be organized for talented students affiliated with the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity on Tuesday to explain the importance of the award and how to participate in it. A special meeting will also be held for female students on October 16 to encourage them to participate and highlight their role in innovation. The award activities will start in mid-October and will continue till the end of November. Participation will be individually or in groups consisting of 3 students.

Prizes will be distributed to the winners of the first three places. The participating departments include the Drilling and Production Department, the Exploration and Development Department, the Environment and Safety Department, and the Energy Research Department, in addition to the Information Systems Center Department.
