RIYADH: Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng Saud Al-Dabbous said on Sunday that sustainability in municipal projects and services is top priority for Kuwait Municipality. Al-Dabbous told KUNA during his participation in the Gulf Municipal Work Conference in Riyadh that Kuwait Municipality has taken “tangible steps to ensure sustainability of municipal projects and services by integrating the concepts of green economy and smart urban planning.” Al-Dabbous stressed that the municipality will continue to work hard and diligently to achieve “qualitative” achievements in the field of municipal work by adopting sustainable plans and projects aimed at improving the quality of life in cities and urban areas. He pointed to the municipality’s work over the past years to implement modern waste management systems, develop public parks and green spaces, and encourage the use of renewable energy in municipal facilities. He stressed the municipality’s commitment to investing in infrastructure and developing public services, taking into account the preservation of the environment and natural resources in line with Kuwait Vision 2035. He pointed to the importance of the Gulf Municipal Work Conference hosted by Saudi Arabia, indicating its role in enhancing cooperation in Municipal field between the Gulf countries.

The 12th session of the Gulf Municipal Work Conference, organized by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, kicked off Sunday in the Saudi capital. The conference will continue for three days. — KUNA

and will witness the holding of more than 15 dialogue sessions and workshops with the participation of a group of officials, experts and academics specialized in municipal work from the GCC countries. – KUNA
