WASHINGTON: Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, Kuwait's Ambassador to the United States, emphasized Saturday Kuwait's ongoing commitment to providing humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian people and supporting humanitarian causes worldwide.

This statement was made during her participation in the annual event of the American charity organization American Near East Refugee Aid (Anera), which is one of the leading institutions in Washington dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees, specifically in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, and Jordan.

Sheikha Al-Zain noted that Kuwait's contributions to Anera are part of a long-standing collaboration aimed at delivering humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people and stopping the Zionist aggression against Gaza and Lebanon. She reaffirmed Kuwait's solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon during these difficult times, emphasizing the importance of supporting humanitarian institutions that care for and assist Palestinian refugees. She added that Kuwait will continue to provide humanitarian aid to those in need to alleviate their suffering.

Sean Carroll, President of Anera, said the organization "continues the struggle" to provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza and is currently working to increase relief aid to Lebanon. "We all feel the weight of sorrow and exhaustion, and we recognize that as the brutality and tragedy persist, we are asking all our staff and donors to keep pushing forward. I hope we can count on your support. Our team and many of our donors are doing extraordinary work under extremely challenging conditions," he said.

He held the Zionist occupation forces responsible for obstructing and limiting the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza, warning that such aid has reached its lowest level since last November. He stressed the need for everyone to understand the reality of the situation — that not enough aid is reaching Gaza, largely due to Zionist restrictions. He assured that Anera will work diligently to ensure humanitarian aid assistance reaches those who desperately need it.

"This is the worst environment we've ever faced in providing assistance... it is a potential genocide that goes beyond death and destruction, driven by the restrictions imposed by the occupation." It's important to note that Kuwait has made several contributions to support the programs and initiatives of Anera, which has been aiding refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, and Lebanon for over 45 years. — KUNA
