Curbs on wireless device imports

KUWAIT: The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) said people must obtain permission from the authority if they want to import wireless communication devices such as radio and walkie-talkie sets.

Preparations underway for rains

KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works Dr Noura Al-Mashaan affirmed on Wednesday that preparations are underway for the upcoming rainy season. Following a meeting with officials from various relevant authorities, Dr Mashaan said the ministry’s field teams would be ready and will coordinate with other departments to address challenges that may arise from heavy rainfall, such as the formation of water pools in public areas. She urged citizens and residents to keep drains clean and refrain from littering in public spaces to prevent the clogging of sewage pipes. — KUNA

Kuwait inflation up by 2.92%

KUWAIT: Kuwait’s annual inflation rate grew by 2.92 percent in August, according to the Kuwait Central Statistical Bureau. On a monthly basis, inflation rose by 0.97 percent compared to July. The rise was driven by increases in key sectors, including food and beverages (up 5.96 percent), clothing (up 5.76 percent) and education (up 0.96 percent). Housing services rose by 0.91 percent while furniture increased by 3.17 percent. Health, transport and communication sectors also saw modest increases. — KUNA (See Page 2)
