KUWAIT: The Minister of Health Dr Ahmed Al-Awadhi said that primary health care is the first line of defense for the health system, indicating that the Ministry pays great attention to achieving more achievements and positive indicators. The minister confirmed in a statement to reporters after the opening of the Musaed Al-Saleh Health Center in the Shaab area on Wednesday that the Ministry will continue to expand primary health care services, as several centers have been opened in the northern and southern regions.

He pointed out that this medical edifice includes six general medicine clinics and specialized clinics namely: diabetes, chronic diseases, asthma, osteoporosis, and healthy child clinics, as well as nutrition clinics, health education, geriatrics, and oral and dental health clinics. The center also provides home visit services. He added that this center is an addition to the health system for support services.

For his part, Najib Musaed Al-Saleh, representing the donor’s family, said that the medical edifice will serve the people of Kuwait in line with the desire of the late Musaed Al-Saleh, pointing out that the construction was completed in 2019, but the opening was postponed due to the Corona pandemic. Al-Saleh explained that the center occupies an area of more than 6,600 square meters - at a cost of about KD 3,000,000.—KUNA
