KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Housing in Kuwait emphasized on Monday the importance of sharing expertise in housing and investment projects with Saudi Arabia. In a statement to KUNA, the authority praised the depth of Kuwaiti-Saudi relations and said fostering strategic partnerships between the two countries will benefit both sides. The statement followed a two-day joint meeting with a visiting delegation from the Saudi Export Development Authority, during which both sides exchanged views on potential collaborative frameworks for upcoming housing and investment initiatives.

The Saudi delegation’s visit was part of a tour it held in Kuwait aimed at promoting service exports and attracting local investors from both the public and private sectors, particularly in housing and investment.

In its statement, the authority also commended the efforts of the Saudi Export Development Authority in providing necessary support to the authority, reiterating its commitment to assist in achieving the objectives of the delegation’s visit to Kuwait.

Opening doors for Saudi firms

During the visit, the delegation also explored opportunities for Saudi companies to enter the Kuwaiti market during a meeting with Eid Al-Rashidi, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works.

In a statement to KUNA, Rashidi emphasized efforts to simplify procedures and remove obstacles for Saudi firms, stating that the conditions are favorable for collaboration. He expressed commitment to this partnership and mentioned that future meetings will include workshops where engineers and officials will help the delegation understand key project details.

“We are dedicated to removing any hurdles for companies looking to enter the Kuwaiti market, and this will be coordinated through meetings between officials from both countries, “ said Rashidi. He said the first step is for Saudi companies to register with the Central Agency for Public Tenders and the Direct Investment Promotion Authority.
