DOHA: Assistant Undersecretary for Customer Services at Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy Eng Falah Al-Mutairi stressed on Sunday the importance of the 31st meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) Electricity and Water Cooperation Committee in enhancing cooperation and facing common challenges.

Al-Mutairi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the meeting, hosted by the Qatari capital, discusses a number of topics on the agenda in preparation for submitting them to the next ministerial meeting to take appropriate decisions and recommendations. Al-Mutairi added that the meeting discusses various topics, including the continuation of the work of the electricity and water rationalization group in the GCC countries, the continuation of the work of the subscriber services working group, and the award for the best service office and call center, in addition to discussing the final recommendations of the fourth Gulf Forum for Subscriber Services.

It also studies the impact of raising tariffs and reducing consumption in the GCC countries, completing work on the item of calculating the per capita consumption rate and the sector consumption rate, completing the item of the media plan regarding harmonization with scientific initiatives related to rationalization, and other topics. Earlier, the Chairman of Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation, Issa Al-Kuwari, opened the meeting in which Kuwait is participating with a delegation headed by the Assistant Undersecretary for Customer Services at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Eng Falah Al-Mutairi. — KUNA
