KUWAIT: The Union of Kuwaiti Charitable Societies and Institutions launched on Sunday a campaign to support needy students inside the country with the aim of promoting education and social responsibility. The head of the Union of Kuwaiti Charitable Societies and Institutions, Saad Al-Otaibi, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the press conference that the campaign seeks to provide financial support to the most needy students, believing in the importance of education in building a strong and sustainable future.

He stressed that the main objective of the campaign is to fill the financial gaps for students whose families are unable to pay tuition fees, which ensures that they continue their education without interruption, adding that education is the foundation on which the future of societies is built. Al-Otaibi explained that coordination with schools is carried out directly to ensure that donations reach the most needy students with full transparency.

The campaign embodies the values of compassion and cooperation that characterize Kuwaiti society. For his part, the campaign manager and member of the Union, Abdullah Al-Haidar, explained in a similar statement to KUNA that education is a fundamental pillar for the advancement of societies, as the progress of a country is measured by the level and quality of education.

He added that this campaign comes as a continuation of last year’s campaign, where statistics indicate that more than 3,000 students were unable to pay their tuition fees, indicating that education is one of the main strategic areas for the work of charitable institutions in Kuwait. Al-Haidar called on philanthropists to support children’s education and provide their basic needs.

A member of the Union of Charitable Societies and Institutions, Sinan Al-Ahmad, said that the stability of the educational process requires students to continue their studies without interruption for any reason, noting that the campaign seeks to support students from needy families who face difficulties in providing for their children’s basic needs. Al-Ahmad stressed that there are hundreds of poor families who cannot afford to provide for their children’s education expenses. — KUNA
