Sahel app launches in English

KUWAIT: The English version of the Sahel app launched on Thursday. The new English interface for the app has become a pressing need for Kuwait’s large non-Arabic speaking community, as more government services are becoming available on the app.

Algeria slaps visas on Moroccans

ALGIERS: Algeria said Thursday it was imposing visa requirements on Moroccans, accusing its North African rival of criminal activity in its territory, including “Zionist espionage” and “drug and human trafficking”. A statement charged that Morocco had “engaged in various actions that threaten Algeria’s stability”. — AFP

They included allowing “Zionist espionage agents holding Moroccan passports to freely enter national territory”, in addition to conducting “organized crime, drug and human trafficking”. – AFP

Dozens of children drown in India

LUCKNOW: At least 46 people have drowned, most of them children, while bathing in rivers and ponds swollen by recent floods during the observance of a Hindu religious festival celebrated by millions in north India, authorities said on Thursday. The dead include 37 children and seven women who drowned on Wednesday in the eastern state of Bihar in scattered incidents across 15 districts, a statement from Bihar’s disaster management department said. – Reuters (See Page 7)
