KUWAIT: Yousef Shamsah and Mishari Ibrahim, members of BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) Kuwait, called for boycotting companies that support the Zionist occupation, emphasizing that this movement is crucial for the security of Arab nations. In an interview with Kuwait Times, Shamsah warned the Zionist entity’s goal is to dominate the region, and countries that ignore the boycott risk facing similar consequences as Palestine.

While supporting personal boycotts, Ibrahim stressed that divestment — urging companies and governments to withdraw investments — has a more significant impact. The BDS movement in Kuwait achieved success in 2014, leading to major financial losses for companies supporting the Zionist entity. (See Page 2)

Shamsah and Ibrahim believe in targeted, focused efforts, prioritizing brands with strong ties to the occupation. They emphasized that boycotting and divestment could benefit Kuwait’s economy by boosting local enterprises. Despite concerns about the future of the boycott movement, especially if a ceasefire occurs in Gaza, Shamsah insisted that the movement must continue until Palestine is fully liberated. (See Page 2)
