ADEN: Kuwait’s Al-Najat Charitable Society on Sunday launched urgent relief projects for those affected by floods and rains in the Tihama region in western Yemen, benefiting about 19,000 people as part of the “Kuwait by Your Side” campaign. The head of the “Roh Al-Ataa Foundation for Development,” which implemented the project, Abdulraouf Al-Yousfi, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the project is supervised by the Kuwaiti Al-Najat Society in partnership with the Kuwaiti “Hands of Goodness for Development” Foundation. The charity implemented an integrated package for the benefit of thousands of families affected by floods in the governorates of Taiz and Al-Hodeidah.

He added that the projects went beyond relief to development and included providing relief materials to 2,100 beneficiaries. Thousands of families benefited from the food basket project, solar electricity system projects, and mobile medical clinic. Al-Yousfi explained that these projects have contributed to alleviating the suffering of thousands of families affected by the floods and rains that swept through many Yemeni regions in recent weeks. He expressed his thanks and gratitude to Kuwait, its Amir, government, and people, and its charitable, relief, and development institutions for their continuous support of the Yemeni people. — KUNA

For his part, the Director of Al-Mokha District, Sultan Mahmoud, in a press statement, praised the positions and efforts of Kuwait towards the Yemeni people in times of hardship and prosperity.
