PORT SUDAN: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) said Sunday it has distributed humanitarian aid to flood victims in the Al-Ubaidiya area of River Nile State, northern Sudan. Head of the KRCS team Abdulrahman Al-Saleh told KUNA that the team directly distributed relief and food aid to dozens of affected families in the Al-Ubaidiya area, which witnessed a natural disaster due to heavy rains and floods that hit River Nile State, about 600 kilometers from Port Sudan.

He explained that the aid was transported via the Kuwaiti Air Bridge for humanitarian aid to the people of Sudan. He also pointed out that the team is currently assessing the situation to determine basic needs in the next stage. Al-Saleh praised the efforts of all officials and international organizations that enabled the field team to reach the affected areas, expressing his thanks for the cooperation of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society and the extensive follow-up by the Ambassador of Kuwait to Sudan, Dr. Fahad Al-Dhafiri. He stressed that the Kuwait Red Crescent Society will continue to provide support and assistance to the Sudanese people.
