UK ends visa waiver for Jordan

LONDON: Jordanians will have to apply for a visa to visit the UK again, mere months after they became exempt from the visa requirement. The UK government cited a significant increase in asylum seekers among the reasons behind the decision announced Tuesday as part of changes to immigration rules. The changes take effect on Sept 10, 2024, but Jordanians who already have a valid ETA and confirmed booking made before that date can still enter the UK as long as their arrival date does not exceed Oct 8.
