BISHKEK: Al-Safa Charitable Society on Monday inaugurated the first of its kind charitable projects in its “Partners in Charity 16” trip to Kyrgyzstan with two water networks serving the villages of Aq Bashat and Kun To. Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors Mohammad Al-Shaya told KUNA that “the opening of two water networks in two villages was made possible through the generosity of the donors. He added that the two networks serve four neighboring villages with more than 4,000 beneficiaries who have been waiting for such projects for more than 30 years, indicating that the villagers own small gardens that they use for agriculture.

He praised Kuwait’s humanitarian role in extending a helping hand to many countries through large charitable projects targeting the poor, needy, widows, and orphans, and its role in assisting Kuwaiti charitable societies inside and outside Kuwait. The trip to Kyrgyzstan started on Sunday in the capital Bishkek, where some charitable projects, including hospitals, schools, water networks, and orphanages, were launched with the participation of several governmental and private entities. It will continue until September 16. — KUNA
