Kuwait extends oil cuts

VIENNA: Eight members of the OPEC+ group of oil-producing nations agreed Thursday to extend their voluntary supply cuts until the end of November, postponing a planned output increase amid falling crude prices. The eight OPEC+ nations are Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, UAE, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman. Their voluntary supply cuts of 2.2 million barrels per day (bpd) will be extended “for two months until the end of November 2024”, the alliance said. — AFP (See Page 8)

Winter vaccinations available

KUWAIT: The health ministry announced on Thursday that vaccinations against winter illnesses are available at 43 medical centers and 14 hospitals throughout the country. In the Capital health zone, vaccinations are provided at 15 centers. It listed six centers in Hawally, 10 centers in Farwaniya, eight in Ahmadi, six in Jahra and four in Mubarak Al-Kabeer, in addition to immunizations provided at several hospitals in the Al-Sabah health zone. — KUNA (See Page 3)

Iraq to buy 14 military choppers

BAGHDAD: Iraq reached an agreement on Thursday to purchase 14 military helicopters, including a dozen H225M (Caracal) multi-role combat aircraft, from European aviation giant Airbus. Defense Minister Thabet Al-Abbassi attended the signing ceremony for the deal in Baghdad alongside French Ambassador to Iraq Patrick Durel and a representative of Airbus Helicopters. — AFP

Madrid to ban e-scooters

MADRID: Madrid will ban e-scooters rented through mobile apps after the city’s three licensed operators failed to implement limits on their clients’ circulation or control their parking, Mayor Jose Luis Martinez-Almeida said in a statement. He said the licenses of Lime, Dott and Tier Mobility would be cancelled from October and that the city has no plans to grant new licenses to any other operators. — Reuters
