KUWAIT: The Central Statistical Administration (CSA) said Tuesday that the quantities of local fish sold during the second quarter of this year amounted to 250 tons, with a total value of about KD 631,000 (around $2 million) at wholesale prices. The CSA added in its quarterly bulletin on the total quantities and values of local fish sold for the second quarter of this year. The average kilogram recorded KD 2.52 in the second quarter.

It explained that the total quantities of local fish in April amounted to a value of KD 232,700 (around $767,000) according to wholesale prices in the aforementioned month, while the total quantities in May amounted to a value of KD 237, 900 (around $785,000). It indicated that the quantities of local fish sold in June amounted to a value of KD 160,000 (around $528,000). The administration’s statistics include 25 different types of fish. It is worth noting that the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources sets fishing dates in order to give them a chance to reproduce and turn them into a sustainable wealth for the country. — KUNA
