KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) and Kuwait Airways signed on Sunday a cooperation protocol to develop a new academic program for graduate students under the name “Aviation Sciences and Air Transport” at the headquarters of the Higher Institute of Communications and Navigation. In a press statement after the signing ceremony, the Director General of PAAET, Dr. Hassan Al-Fajam, stressed the Authority’s keenness to consolidate the bonds of cooperation and joint integration with various state agencies and open labor markets by developing programs and specializations for high school graduates.

Al-Fajam explained that the aim of the protocol is to provide the entities with a highly professional national workforce and to develop a new diploma program (Aviation Sciences and Air Services) to be offered in the second semester of the academic year 2024/2025. Al-Fajam added that this cooperation is a distinguished start with Kuwait Airways and evidence of the Authority’s constant endeavor to open new horizons for high school graduates through the development of new programs and specializations.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Airways, Abdul Mohsen Al-Faqaan, said in a similar statement that this cooperation includes the implementation of field training for students in the company’s operational facilities, indicating that Kuwaitia will provide the Higher Institute of Communications and Navigation with all modern technologies to keep pace with the latest technical developments in the field of aviation sciences and air transport.

Al-Faqaan explained that the administration will also organize and prepare programs, visits, and workshops to exchange technical expertise and implement joint scientific and applied research in areas that serve the development of specialization between the two sides. He added that Kuwait will also have job opportunities for students and graduates. In a similar statement, Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, Deputy Director General for Training at the Authority, said that the Applied Authority is in the process of developing three other new programs with the aim of strengthening Kuwaiti cadres with a constellation of distinguished people in various fields in the labor market. — KUNA
